Ricochet Ridge Ranch offers a variety of pre-packaged vacations, and we would be happy to create a custom riding vacation for you. If you would like to discuss the vacation that you have in mind, please email larishea@horse-vacation.com. In addition, you can create your own riding vacation by following the simple steps below. By compiling your own vacation package, you decide how much riding you'd like to do, and when. You also select your accommodations from a wide variety of Hotels, Inns and B&B's. Everything from an economical family vacation, to a luxury anniversary celebration can be customized to suit you best!

Step 1

First, decide how many days of riding you'd like. Visit our Daily Trail Rides page, and choose from our selection of group and private rides. Group rides are open for others to join you, whereas private rides are just your party and a guide. 1 1/2 hour rides leave at 10, noon, 2, and 4:00. 3 hour rides leave at 10, 12, or 2:00, 4 hour rides leave at 10 AM or 2 PM, and all day rides depart at 9:30 AM.

To make reservations, you may use our online secure reservation form. Under "select a ride", choose "Custom Vacation/Multiple Rides (describe below)", and describe your ride under "comments". Be sure to include the following information for EACH RIDE:

  • Duration (1 1/2hr, 3hr, etc.)
  • Number of riders (can vary each day)
  • Desired start time (see info above)

On four hour rides only
  • Specify Beach, Forest, or both

On all day rides
  • Specify Beach and Forest, or just forest
  • Let us know if you'd like us to pack lunch ($20/each)

You may view our "Sample" reservation, if you like. (This will open in a new window.)

Step 2

Make lodging arrangements. Choose your accommodations from a list of of hotels, Inns, and B&B's in our area. Please note where you will be staying when you make your trail ride reservations. We would be happy to process hotel reservations for unique local inns, such as the Hill House Inn of Mendocino. Just mention if you'd like this service when you send your ride reservations.

Step 3

Other Activities. If you'd like to make arrangements for other activities during your stay on the Mendocino Coast, Visit the Chamber of Commerce website. There is also a list of restaurants to choose from on our About Mendocino Page, although you might enjoy browsing the selection in person. Mendocino is well known for it's fine wine and cuisine.

Step 4

Arrival. Depending on your location, you will probably find it best to fly into Oakland (OAK) or San Francisco (SFO) Airport. From there, most folks rent a car and drive up the coast. It's also possible, but not preferable, to take a bus. Mendocino is a lovely 3 1/2 hour drive from San Francisco. You'll be traveling through wine country, and the redwood forest. If you like, there are plenty of opportunities to participate in wine tasting, or hiking through the redwoods on your drive up to Mendocino.

On our More about Ricochet Ridge Ranch page you will find a map, along with written driving directions.
